Publishing an Intranet

By JimKlallsoo ·
Our company had a Intranet put in place by contractors when i was off so i sort of missed an opportunity to talk to the guys who put it in place.

Anyone can view our intranet by typing into the browser http://Intranet

What i would like to know is this:

I have created a website which i would also like to use as an additional intranet can anyone explain to me step by step exactly what to do to publish this site.

I have tried this already by placing my new intranet lets call it Intranet2 into the same folder as Intranet1 in IIS console but when i try open the browser it says you are not authorised to view this web site.

As i say if anyone can give me step by step instructions on exactly how i will be achieve this i would greatly appreciative.

The environment is Windows 2003.

1) it can only be viewed on local network
2) you have to set permissions on the folder you made to allow world reading
3) you have to make all files in that folder world readable also.

you may have to tell iis to allow access to this folder and contents explicitly. ( admin access to iis )
