Main difference is

that you will need to install raid drivers by rpessing F6 when prompted.

You don't say which version you're using so any other queries you may have will be hard to address.

As CC said you need to install the RAID Drivers

by OH Smeg In reply to raid ibm blade server

By pressing the F6 Key when the first blue screen appears. You then need to have the RAID Driver copied to the Root of a Floppy and insert this when prompted and press enter. Setting up the RAID Array is just a matter of following the steps provided by the IBM Drivers here and having the necessary Drives installed so that they are available to use when required.

With RAID 0 & 1 you need at least 2 HDD and with RAID 5 you require at least 3 HDD's. Once you have configured the RAID the install proceeds pretty much the same way as a single Disc install does.

This depends on the Blade in question

by OH Smeg In reply to blade server install

The 2000 + CPU Blades that IBM sell this is done through the Blade Console.

As I don't come into contact with the smaller ones I'm not sure.

All you should need to do here is press the F6 Key when the first Blue Screen appears and insert the RAID Driver copied to the Root of whatever Media you are using. When you are prompted for a Driver which will be something like SCSI or so on insert the Media and press Enter.

The rest is now just a Standard Windows Install after you tell the installer which type of RAID you want to install.
