RAM counting slow on bootup

By PeeJay ·
Hello all:

Usually when you boot a machine, the RAM is counted very quickly until the amount installed is reached. When I boot my PC, my RAM is counted in 4's until it reaches 512MB. Why is my RAM taking so long to be found? It's taking my machine 10 minutes to bootup. The RAM is recently installed, but it was working fine for about 2 weeks, but all of a sudden it's doing this. HELP!!!

RAM counting slow on bootup

Go into your systems Bios and make sure quick boot is enabled. If it is disabled it will show an extremely slow boot as it checks each meag of ram individualy.Might i also suggest that if you do find out the quick boot is disabled find out the reasonas to why.It should not disable itself and very few software apps can affect your bios.Hope this helps

VERY GOOD!!! Thank you very much for your help. After looking over my BIOS, I noticed a few things that were incorrect and now everything seems to be working fine. I appreciate it.
