RCP-HTTP problem

By sphaneda ·
Hi all,
I have a Windows 2003 standard running a webmail (Exchange 2003) available via the Outlook's client. In other words, users can DL their emails in Outlook wherever they are in the world but since a few weeks, this is not possible anymore. When outlook tries to connect, it just fails ! Strangely though, users can still consult there webmail online and they even receive the mails on there smartphone. We use Outlook 2003/2007. We investigated on certificates, DNS resolution, firewall and we even restarted the server.
I noticed though that at startup it returns the following error message (event id 7023) : "The Remote Access Connection Manager service terminated with the following error:
The specified module could not be found."
I also noticed that RPC service is totally greyed and I cannot interact with it.
But if these services are to be working properly, how come users can still download their mails on their Smartphones ???
If you need more info, do not hesitate to contact me !
Thanks in advance for your help!

Case solved

Apparently since an update in Outlook 2003/2007, there is one port that needs to be open in the Firewall due to a specific service (nmsd.exe) needs it.
I found no info on that specific issue.
It works now and that's the principle.
