rcp server unavailable

By thepowerfullone ·
my mates pc had the blue screen of death, I've managed to get it working again. I downloaded the drivers for the modem and network utility from the dell site but when the setup installer for the drivers runs it comes up with RCP srever unavailable and quits the installation.
Can anyone explain this for me and give a solution

Correct Drivers

I've noticed in the past that Dell hardware can be picky about having the right drivers for it's components. Just wanted to make sure you have the correct drivers software needed for the component.

Dell drivers ( service tag)

by thepowerfullone In reply to Correct Drivers

I entered the dell service tag and downloaded the drivers dell reccommended for that model.I managed to get the drivers loaded and put the cable from my internet connection into the pc and checked it. Grand could get on the net. Problem now is my mate uses a usb dongle from his mobile phone company to get on the net and that wont work on his pc but will on mine. I'm thinking this is to do with the usb ports(yet the keyboard and mouse work) or could it be the wireless controller in the pc.
Any ideas?

I would be looking for the correct driver for the OS

by mamies In reply to wireless dongle drivers

Are the Operating Systems on both machines the same. If so do you still have the driver that you installed onto the other machine.

Hopefully you do, then you can try and install that driver and see if it works.

Also you may need to install their third party software to connect to their connection.
