My previous network question is below. I kind of found a solution; I used an IP address from DHCP and am using the proxy server to get online. It seems that I can only get on the network and the internet using the proxy server. The problem is the proxy server blocks some legitimate sites. I still need to find a way around this problem, any advice is appreciated.
Got a problem with a Windows 98 computer on an NT network. I can access the internet only with DHCP enabled but cannot with the computer’s IP address. I need to be able to access the internet as well as network shares and I cannot do both with DHCP enabled. How can I get this computer to connect to the internet as well as shared drives and computers without changing the IP address?
