RE: Page will not Print!

By jeremy27 ·
Let me elaborate: when I press print, nothing happens, there is a printer icon in the status bar that stays there until you close the page. I opened the printer properties and nothing is in the queue. There are no printer errors or messages of any kind, its like the command was never sent, very odd. I'm using Win98SE, IE 5.5 and Hewlett Packard printers.
The link for the page is: s%20(updated).htm

didn't hp have a problem with web pages printing? what happens if you set up a different print don't mention your printer model number...maybe the deskjet 500 driver would work, see? or try another printer.

Try the following :

Go to View - Encoding and choose Auto-Select. If
Auto-Select is already selected then try Western
European(ISO) or maybe Unicode (UTF-.

Good luck !

Right,....I would suggest to frist check that there are no problems in the physical connectio between the PC and the printer.

To check that restart the machine and go to Command Prompt. There type in the following:

"dir >lpt1" exactly as it is. This command prints out the list of drivers that are used with the printer, the only thing is that by doing this you are using no drivers, just tha physical connection between the two machines. And it rints because the printer has sufficient intelligence to interpret the command without the need of drivers. If after that with the command line it prints just fine, the problem must be with the drivers you are using. Try unisntalling all the drivers/DLL's and Registry entries and get the latest drivers from the Web.

Hope this helps!
