RealPlay freeze

By miriama59 ·
My computer keeps freezing--I click ctrl, alt, delete (we all know the drill) and the window with all the stuff pops up and the line with realplay (not responding) shows. I know, I am too technical right? :-) but I think that means realplayer right? and there is nothing wrong with it that I have noticed. This is annoying because 1/2 the time I click end task and all goes back to normal the other 1/2 shuts me down. I have a Toshiba I just got in March from People PC, 56k, win98...

RealPlay freeze

I've consistantly had the same problem with Real Player 6 until I finally got tired of it and removed it. However, Real Player 8 is less buggy than previous versions.

I guess it depends on what you use it for. If for playing MP3, Winamp is by farthe best, and now it's free. Win Media Player can also substitute for many things RP does but if you really like RP, try the upgrade to V8 Beta from: http://www.real.com/

I'll get rid of Real Player and download and install Winamp from www.winamp.com. Just like the gentleman suggested above, Windows Media Player 7 is a good one too. Though it only works with Windows 98 and 2000. Do not install it for Windows 95 (as MS advised).

Enjoy!
