Red Hat Linux

By ricseb ·
I've been reading some posts regarding Vista. I've installed Vista Business and just creating a domain with my server, which is running SBS 2003, has been a nightmare. And forget about compatibility with Office 2007. I have a copy of Red Hat Linux that's about two years old and have been reading many posts about people fed up with MS who are switching to Linux. My question to all of you is this: what brand of Linux are most people using at this time? I'm pretty fed up with MS in general and Vista in particular. I have a friend who just got a Mac G5 and it's just amazing. It smokes Vista in every way. I'm a web designer using Dreamweaver and this guy threw a page together on his Mac with web design software that came with it, and published the page to .MAC in 15 minutes.

Well, if you want to continue running MS Apps, you can try Linspire

but from what I been reading, Ubuntu seems pretty popular among the Linux gurus. I'm not a Linux expert, but Ubuntu seems pretty favorable.

...has a proven track record. Redhat has it's roots also but now I think it's called Fedora. Here's an interesting Linux Timeline

And distrowatch.com has information on all the distros and has a ranking system that shows which distro version is the most popular.
