    Locked

    by sprelligosi ·

I cant seem to access the techrepublic.com main site. I get the:

“Redirect Loop Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.”

Thw site works perfectly when i access it at home via ethernet cable. However when i use the wireless network at work i get the following error.
Im using a lenovo w500 laptop.

    wireless network is using proxy.

    any ideas?

Do you get the same problem if you use Internet Explorer?

yes i get the samt thing while using IE i get

“Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

        Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
        The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address. ”

the funny thing the site worked yesterday but not today:

I am located on a boat connection via satellite.

Your DNS could be buggered up

Try using a different DNS, there are free DNS servers located out there, try one of them (sorry I cannot name one, perhaps someone else can, I usually raise hell with my ISP when their DNS is wrong or broken and get a free month)

If not DNS issue, I would suspect proxy server

as far as dns servers, try OpenDNS. If that doesnt work, then that leaves proxy server.
