Redundant Small Business Server 2008

by smorg27 . Updated 16 years, 7 months ago

Greeting to all,

I would like to find out if anyone has successfully come up with a way to cost effectively implement redundant SBS 2008 (or SBS 2003) servers. I am a consultant and looking for a good solution to this scenario. I have been extensively combing the internet for a conclusive answer. The only information I have found is that SBS 2008 can be virtualized using Hyper-V. Using that idea, setup two servers running Hyper-V, install SBS 2008 as a guest on each server and use the built-in clustering option in Hyper-V. Has anyone tried this idea? I know SBS does not provide clustering itself, but using Hyper-V it would be independent of SBS. I’m hoping someone can provide a definitive answer and would be most appreciated.
