By ansumel ·
I have a situation where I need to regulate our employees internet usage. We have a wireless Linksys router that connects everyone to the internet.

Content filtering proxy server is what you need

Depending on the number of users, and your level of tech skills:

1)WebSense Enterprise ~$10K (over 200 users)
2)WebSense Express ~$1K (50 or so users)
3)Rhinosoft AllegroSurf ~$500 (15-20 users)
4)Squid with DansGuardian Free

I personally like AllegroSurf and have installed it for small offices, homes, and educational settings.

WebSense is a rock-solid enterprise product.

For the techies, Squid is a free proxy that runs on Linux and DansGuardian is a database-driven content filtering system.

A similar product is called 'SafeSquid'.
