Remote Admin Proxy

By rocketscienze ·
Hi,

I am sitting in an educational institution that obviously has a proxy server. I would like to connect to my home PC at times (many times) to access my PC...VNC is a solution but I cannot figure how to get out...I have tried through the browser and set the home pc to recieve through Port 8081 (same as proxy). So basically is there a way to VNC to the Server at home through the proxy in any way????? Tunnelling through 8080 or 8081 somehow???

Ron

VNC requires a port of 5900+N to be open to work.

They are most likely blocked on the firewall and without you having admin rights on it, no solution will work.

Thanks, but VNC you can govern the ports and use java through the net, I know that tunnelling through port 8081 should do the trick I just can't figue out the reverse authentication through the same port not 5900 or 5800 but using java as http

I have just researched more and I believe that this has been done and there is an application that installs a tunneling appz and repeater for VNC but these have been designed for MAC's and Linux not for Windows...perhaps this would give some ideas to someone.
