Remote desktop connection problem

By shane.aku ·
Hi,

I'm an administrator in Sri Lanka. We have 3 sites (Colombo(Head Office), Wattala, Mabima). Colombo connects to Malaysia through the international link. When an international user tries to connect to our server which risides in colombo through the international link, he can connect without any problem. When he tries to connect to a server which resides in Wattala site, he gets the following error message. He can tracert to the computer though. What could be the possible reason for this error message?

Error Message: This computer can't connect to the remote computer. Try connecting again. If the problem continues, contact the owner of the remote computer or your network administrator.

Open RDP clients on other computers

by Sephiroth_ff7_69 In reply to Remote desktop connection ...

I get the same error when I leave a RDP client open on one computer and then try to open that same session on another computer. This was not a problem before I switched to my new server. Before I could leave a RDP client open on one computer and when I tried to reopen that same session on a different computer it would automatically close out the RDP client on the first computer. I don't know how I got it to work. But you might want to make sure that no one is logged on somewhere else to that session before you try to reopen it on a different computer.
