Remote Office

By wrachwal ·
just openning a new office
the two offices will have a PIX doing the site to sie VPN.
I have one office setup with 2 win2000 DC servers
doing local DHCP,DNS on 10.0.1.x scope (40 users)
The second (remote)office will also have a 2003 DC so both sites can replicate the AD database (20 users) on different ip scope

question:
Can I have a local DNS and DHCP in the remote office. Will DHCP conflict with the main office since there will be an always on connection between them.
Is this setup seem ok?
suggestions ,comments?

Shouldn't be a problem. Create 2 AD sites. Set up a DHCP scope for each subnet. Associate correct subnet to each AD site.

Lots of places have remote sites with no DHCP server at the facility.

As you described the ip addressing you shouldn't have any problem.
