remote shutdown command for w2k server

By bart.vannoppen ·
I want to run a batch file on a w2k server that needs to shut down remote servers. In XP or w2k3 this can be done with the shutdown /s command, but this doesn't work in w2k server. Can anybody help me?

For Win2K you can either install the Windows 2000 Resource Kit, which includes a shutdown.exe utility or you can download and install psShutdown from Microsoft ( which will provide similar, but more robust, options to the shutdown.exe utility.

Let me know if this helps or you have further questions. Thanks.
