Reoccurring memory issue-could not "read

By Brandon Moser ·
A Windows 2000 pro user in the office is continuely getting an error that reads as follows:

The instruction at "0x01376c4a" referenced memory at "0x00e99000". The memory could not be "read".

I am unsure of what this means and have been told that it may be a "lack of power" issue. The error occurs usually when the user has a few programs open and/or is doing a "powerful" task.

Take a look at this article in the Microsoft Knowledge base.

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000.

This is another Windows memory management problem.
Update with the service pack as a temporary fix.
An additional note:
Consider a third party utility, (Cacheman and others) because the disk cacheing is not well written either.
