I am fixing a system that is running a Millenium Upgrade from 95. It is a Compaq Presario 4640 system with a P2 233 Processor. I am trying to install a Lexmark x73 printer. I am getting an error with the motherboard resources. It states that this device is causing a resource conflict. I checked and I cannot find where the conflict is. When I plug in the printer I get an unknown usb device. I try to install the software for it, but with this previous error it will not allow the install. I tried to manually install the printer, but as soon as I install it the usb comes back that it cannot communicate with the printer. I also have a linksys router that I have tried and plugged into the usb port and it worked fine. I have tried to update the usb inf files and I have deleted the excess devices under safe mode also. Also, there are four different Mostherboard resources listed and only one is coming up with this error. Any suggestions on how to get this motherboard resources error taken care of and the printer installed?
