Restricted User Account Needs Printer Installed

by jbaker . Updated 19 years, 7 months ago

We have a restricted USER account for students on three Windows XP workstations, which are on our school network. I need to change the backgrounds and install printers.

Prior to making the changes, I set the XP workstations USER account to administrator, and then log into the Windows 2000 server and give administrator privileges to the USER account on our domain.

I set up the display background on the XP workstations and install the printer. Everything works, I reboot. Everything still works. I reset USER account to restricted in XP workstation. I remove administrator privileges from USER account on domain.

The next morning, I come in and start up the workstations and find that the display background has reverted back to its former state and the printer has vanished.

What do I need to do to make these changes stick?
