Reverse lookup zone creation in W2K3 single forest design

By mmontgomery ·
Hello...

I am looking for some best practice scenarios for creating reverse lookup zones in a windows 2003 single forest design with one child domain.

I have a network in the 10.x.x.x range with several branch sites using a class B mask such as 10.10.x.x and 10.20.x.x. All site resources are in a child domain, example: forest root is mycompany.com, child domain is ad.mycompany.com. There is one DC running DNS in each site/subnet.

Should I be creating a single active directory integrated reverse lookup zone of 10.x.x.x on one of the DNS servers in the root and allow it to propagate to all DNS servers in the forest? Or should I create a zone for each subnet in use such as 10.20.x.x, 10.10.x.x and so on.

All DNS server are domain controllers and DHCP is set to update A and PTR records dynamically.
