Roaming Profile and Outlook Express

By Venkatramaiah.sudarsan ·
I have created a profile on windows 2000 server and shared it

In active directory i have set the profile path for a user

Now i want to use this profile path for all users so that all users get a common desktop

But when i tried it for a user name the outlook express account settings are missing each time.

I am not worried about the .dbx files since i have moved them to a different folder

But the configured mail account settings are missing for the user each time he logs off.

I dont want to use individual roaming profile for each user. I want all users to share one profile that is stored on my server.

But at the same time i want to exclude the outlook account setting folders so that each user can have his own account settings to fecilitate mail fetching

please help with inputs for accomplishing this

OE Does not support what you want to do

Outlook Express is designed to be a simple mail client for "HOME" use on the local computer.

The user account settings are stored in the registry.

Why struggle to try to force a weak low security email client to do what it is not designed to do.

Try Mozilla Thunderbird, or Phoenix mail just to name a couple of MUCH better free email client programs.
