We have a 2K server and clients with 2k pro, and are upgrading to client machines with xp pro. There are 2 domain admin accounts with roaming profiles (all accounts use roaming profiles). With the xp machines, one of the admin accounts can logon, but the other can’t. With the failure, loading goes through loading and applying personal settings, then the screen turns to noise.
Things tried so far that have not worked:
Caching was turned off on the shared folder the profiles are stored in
All services were configured to start with a LocalSystem account
Processes the account was associated with (backup, updates…) were changed to run under a different account
Profile was deleted from the client before next logon attempt
The account was tested as a local profile, and of course that worked like a charm.
Any ideas what to try next?
