roaming user profiles

By winikeh ·
How can I set up a default user profile stored on the server for all workstations? Also, once these profiles are created I want them by default to include such things as preconfigured outlook. I have seen it done elsewhere but want to know how it is done. Any ideas?

use active directory to point the path to a certain profile for each user. this would be a profile pre-configured by you for use by each user.

I couldn't locate the steps on Microsoft's site, but they're the same as described on this other:

http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/ArticleID/47534/www.windowsitpro.com/faq/articles/d765/a47534

Essentially, you log onto a pc as a local user, perform all the modifications you need, then log off. Log on as the domain admin and copy the local user's profile to the NETLOGON folder of the server, naming it Default User and specifying the EVERYONE group has permssions to use that profile.
That will allow each new user to log on with that default profile.
