Robocopy taking over processor

By dug61 ·
I am using Robocopy to backup (Mir) files to external USB drives. Some of the files are Windows .bkf backup files. Everything seems to go OK until Robocopy tries copying new .bkf files over old ones of the same name. Processor load goes to 100% and it appears Robocopy is finished until you look in task manager. Robocopy is still running (100% CPU) and there is no way to kill it through task manager. It keeps coming back!!RoboChucky!!!!!
I found that if I delete the .bkf files, that will release Robocopy's grip on the processor.
I have to delete the .bkf files and rerun Robocopy to get a good backup
Has anyone had this problem???? Or can tell me what I'm doing wrong .....
Running Windows 2K3 Server
