My DHCP server is the forest root. I tried to log on to the network using my laptop but I could not.
checked the DHCP on the forest root server and it was up and running
ping the servers abd was getting a reply
ping the router and was not getting any reply, only time out
I cannot access the internet on the network either.
My guess is that the router is down;
should it affect the rest of the network?
should people have problem logging in even though the DHCP server is up and running and leasing out IPs?

any idea on what type of check I could do to diagnose the problem?
