Running an Application through browser

By Atmos42 ·
Here's what I am trying to do:

I have an NT 4.0 Terminal Server
I have an application on this server that I need to be able to run through the users web brower, IE5.
How exactly do I start the application once they hit the server? I don't want to have to install ANYTHING on their PC. All I want is for them to be able to type in the URL and bang, there is the application started. Help!

For NT4, you are stuck with two non-MS add-ons which promise to do this. Basically each of them modifies TServer so that it sends at least the first part of the app through HTTP and modify the clients browser with a plugin so that it recognises thisapp. The names are Citrix MetaFrame and HOBS from the German company with that name.
For W2K, you can accomplish this with 100% MS material - a recently supplied TServer addition pack contains the browser client for RDP.

Hope this helps,

Purchase Citrix Metaframe. The software allows you to publish applications and embedd them or launch them from a browser.
