There is also Cyber patrol
Surf watch
Guard dog from McAfee
And a couple of others.

Perhaps the best option, is to use an ISP that filters the content for you.

The problem with all of the filtering software is similar to all the anti-virus software;
The site programmers are always changing their setup to bypass the filters in the software packages. Much the same as the virus writers are always creating new viruses.

With any software package, you will need to download updates on a regular basis.

If your truly concerned with what your children are viewing on the web. I would suggest that thier surfing is monitered by yourself or another adult as they surf. Programs you use for filtering are basicaly outdated when you load them as The Chas suggested.

Children learn fast, if a child wants to go to certain sites, there's not much that will prevent it from happening unless you physically watch them.

To help, the first thing you should do is get that computer out of the basement recreation room or upstair spare bedroom & put it in the most used area of your house out in the open. If you spend the most time in your main floor dining room living room which is likely off the kitchen, place the computer in the most visible spot. It will not only make it easier for you to moniter, but the child will be less tempted to go where thier not supposed to.

Words to live by.
Fighting to keep the Net free of government restrictions, censorship deprives us of our freedom. If you use your computer as a babysitter your not a responsible parent. So don't deny me my freedom because of your irresponsibility.

Depending on the age of your children, this is a great place for them to surf the net safely. I would never recommend it if I had not already checked it out thoroughly for my daughter to safely surf the net without being corrupted by the filth being spread about out there in cyberspace. The place to go is www.kiddonet.com
membership is free and it is lots of fun for the children.
