I work in state government and we are trying to reach a population in the rural parts of our state that have limited/no access to the internet. We are trying to provide telehealth to a financial disadvantage population. We have a grant to purchase equipment and we have determined that some form of satellite connected device is our best option. Are there satellite enabled tablets or small laptops like Chromebook that have a satellite enabled version? If not what is the best option. I’ve called Best Buy and they just hang up due to call volume. I’m not an IT person so I’m lost and our IT office always wants to take the project away whenever we ask a question. Your help would be greatly appreciated and assist and at need population.

” Are there satellite enabled tablets or small laptops like Chromebook that have a satellite enabled version? ”

No. The dish to pick up satellite is far too large. Even sat-phones have pretty huge antennas and are still costly to operate.

      Time to look at:
      1. Cellular coverage.
      2. Tesla’s “better than nothing” Internet service.
