SBS 2003 Internet Connection Problems

by jkenneyjr . Updated 16 years, 9 months ago

Hi – I have installed SBS 2003, went through all the wizards for internet, firewall and email. I still cannot connect to the internet. I have one internal and one external nic. I have a static ip etc, given to me by my isp and my external nic is set to that. Internal nic is SBS default. I also recently obtained a domain name but haven’t set any of that up yet on the server. Broadband is direct access, no router. When I plug a cable from internet modem to Ext NIC, SBS doesn’t recognize the connection. I plug the same cable into my laptop and have internet access. I also plugged the cable from Ext NIC to old router (w/dchp disabled) and SBS recognizes connection. Why won’t Ext NIC recognize connection when laptop does? Please help. Thanks! James
