SBS Exchange setup

By md_wasiuddin ·
I have register my domain with isp, they provide me a 10 e-mail accounts, I want this e-mail account box in local MS SBS server 2003 exchange server as well as on isp server. I have installed my sbs server with my same domain name which i register (company.com).

What steps should i have to follow to connect my isp mail server with my sbs exchange server.

Can i put 2 mail boxes at a different places

I want to send e-mail from my LAN to other networks

Regards
uv

POP3 and SMTP

by CG IT In reply to SBS Exchange setup

your ISP provides you with their domain name and your user name e.g. joeuser@ISPdomainname.com

POP3 to get mail from your ISPs mail boxes. Microsoft Technet for Exchange will have the step by step instructions on how to setup exchange for POP3 email and where to put in your ISP POP3 server information.

your SBS installation will as for your domain name. when you put in www.yourdomainname.com that's SMTP.

To get mail delivered to your exchange server for your domain name, you have to have change the name servers at your domain name registar to either your name server or use a 3rd party DNS service like dyndns.org .
