SBS with two connections and two networks.

By ajnoz ·
OK, I am setting up a new server for a client that has an interesting situation. They have two internet connections and two different groups of computers that are being used. The first connection is a secure line to the company's headquarters for certain jobs, the second uses a basic cable connection (business) that is used to allow them to do basic database stuff. What they need is a server that manages both sets of computers (quick blasting of images to them and user settings). What I need to do is create settings that allows users to login with one set of credentials for the secure network and one for the cable. Either that or separate the two networks and allow the users to connect in both areas. But i would like for all of this to be done on one server. If you need more information please ask away and I will give you as much information I can.

SBS with two connections and two networks

Hi Ajnoz,

You can combine the two gateways with a cisco router, implement a domain logon with the new server and work with HQ IT guys to define accesses to HQ resources.

you can contact me, if further info is required.

ok i think i am getting this but do i need the router?

by ajnoz In reply to SBS with two connections ...

I was hoping there was some way to use routing to set the access to the networks. But if i need to go the router route it wouldnt be that bad.
