PLEASE HELP ME–I’m a rookie!
I am the I.T. Project Manager at my small company–however, I have little experience and/or knowledge so need help on the following:
We received an e-mail from a company in China (supposedly) regarding “internet brand intellectual property safeguard”. According to these guys, Merit Technology Development Limited, there is another company in China that wants to use our domain name with “.cn” and as a keyword.
I think their aim is to get us to pay for them to protect our domain name, although they haven’t mentioned money yet.
Is this legit? Should I contact our domain name provider for help?
