Domain functional level

by Churdoo In reply to Secondary windows 2000 DC ...

I believe that the forest and domain functional level of SBS is left at Windows 2000. Check the domain functional level on your SBS (Active Directory Users and Computers / right-click on your Domain name / Properties, and check in the General tab).

If your domain functional level is still at Windows 2000 then you should be fine to DCPROMO your Windows 2000 server as an additional server in the existing domain.
