Server 2003 Enterprise and a workgroup file / print server

By slash11 ·
I have a Windows 2003 Server with SP2 (not R2) acting as a file and print server. My XP Pro workstations can not print to it or connect to file shares which are designed for 'Everyone' - Full Access. This server is not a DC and is not part of a domain. This is a simple workgroup setup. The only way that I can get a workstation to access file shares and/or print to it is if I pass server administrator credentials in a logon script. The file shares and printers are shared to 'Everyone' with 'Everyone' having full rights to it. What more can be done? I shouldn't need to pass server Administrator credentials in a logon script to be able use the server as a file and print server. I am fairly seasoned at this, but am stumped on this one. I know it's a permissions issue. I would understand if this was on a domain. Any ideas?
