Server 2003 ,having a problem with SPN , after removing a DC

by keith . Updated 19 years, 5 months ago

I?m having a problem with, i think SPN (service principle name). I?m running Server2003 using two DCs.

A little history.

I started with one DC called Server1. I then added a second DC called Server 2. All is fine replication etc is good (no errors). I now need the use DC Server2 as Mail server and decide to add a raid 5 array. I decide to do a OS rebuild on Server2 as the easiest way to get it raided.

When I come to add Server2 back to the domain it complains that Server2 already exists. So easy, I thought. Rename it something else. I chose Mail.

Now, DC Server 1 and DC Mail replicate OK, but DC Mail is still looking for Server2 to replicate with, and not finding it, because it doesn?t exist any more.

Question: How do I stop DC Mail looking for Server 2.

Any ideas

Keith Wilson.
