Server Client Network Monitoring tool?

By YellowSnow ·
Does anyone know of a network monitoring tool that allows you to install a client version which sends notifications back to the server?

I have 80 computers spread across Texas all under their own personal firewall. This is why I am looking for something that the client sends out instead of the server monitoring.

Thanks,
Daniel

What do you want to monitor?

Do you have a proxy server?

It's much simpler to monitor Internet traffic at one point, the connection to the Internet, via a proxy server such as WebSense.

Up Time

by YellowSnow In reply to What do you want to monit ...

I want to monitor that the computer is up. Basically I want it to ping the server every 15 min to tell it is awake and working. The server (my computer) would just listen and if it does not hear back from it in 15 min it sounds off an alarm or emails me.

Thanks,
Daniel

Wow

Very nice! I set up a schedule to report back to the server.

Only 1 thing is missing.. something and continuously notifies the server that the computer is up.
