Server Doesn’t Recognize Hard Drives

by roozbeh007 . Updated 17 years, 5 months ago

Hello.
I Just purchased a Dell PowerEdge T105
when configuring, I’ve also added SAS6iR (SATA/SAS Controller) to it.
I have also purchased 2 1TB Western Digital HD from Amazon. here is a link to the hard drives I got:

I removed the 2 hard drives in the server with the new 1tb drives. my server did not came with OS preinstalled. so i though to replace the drives and go ahead with the OS installation. when I turn on the server i get the following error:

SATA Port A Device Not Found!
SATA port B Device Not Found!

Strike F1 to Continue or F2 to Run System utility.

when I go to system utility and check the SATA Configuration. it is on Auto for both Drive A and Drive B. Drive C is the dvd rom which finds it just fine. my other option instead of “Auto” is “Off”. when it is on Auto, system does not recognize the drive. here is the stats it shows:
Model: Unknown
Drive Type: Unknown
Capacity: n/a.

I really have no Idea what to do. I appreciate a helping hand here. thanks a lot.

Forget to mention it is a RAID1.
