Setup a Novell Server

By teiemitchell ·
I have a clean server and I want to know (step-by-step) how to create a boot disk and install Novell on it and configure it for 5-workstation network.

First, visit The Novell web site (http://www.novell.com/documentation/nw65/index.html) and read the documentation on NetWare (Novell is a company, NetWare is the product. You don't install "Microsoft" on the workstations, do you?)

Basically, it's a matter of making sure you have server-capable hardware, then boot from the CD and follow the prompts. It will create the boot partition for you.

You don't need a boot disk, as the CD is self bootable. You can also download an ISO image of the OS from Novell's website, but you will need to buy the licenses though. Just make sure the machine you are installing it on has a CDROM or DVDROM that is El Torito compliant and is capable of booting from CDROM.
