Sharing Printer

by defenswens26 . Updated 19 years, 6 months ago

I’ve been trying to share a printer from my wired desktop to my wireless laptop for a long time now and have had no luck. I’m running a Linksys wireless router which my desktop (Sony Vaio) is wired directly into. I have an HP laptop that is connected wirelessly to the router. Both have internet access and run Windows XP. The desktop can access the workgroup but can’t access the laptop, I get the “\\Laptop is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administratore of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found.” On the otherhand, the laptop can’t even access my workgroup. Saying pretty much the same thing as the desktop except it has “The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available.” Both of the PCs I’m running have similar accounts (same name, no password). I’ve tried so many remedies found on the web and have had absolutely no luck.
