Shows good internet connection, but can not access.

By oliver_048 ·
A few weeks ago my computer would connect to wifi or a cable like normal, telling me its connected, however mozilla and ie would not be able to access the internet (along with all other programs). This has happened at home, library and work, so its the computer. At first i did a system restore and that fixed the problem, but it came back after I restarted the computer I believe. Hoping for any help out there, getting desperate.

Download HijackThis

<br><br>
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. Don't try to fix anything just yet. Post your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum and follow their instructions.

The Key is to find out the Name of the Virus so check the Sophos remove log. Once you have that you can use Google to find the Removal Tools. From another PC download and install these two programs and copy the the installed folders to a USB Stick. Restart the infected PC in Safe Mode By pressing F8 repeatedly on startup.
<br><br>

Download Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.5.2 and install it. Update it. http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

<br><br>
Download Sophos and the latest IDE Files. Install it and extract the IDE files to the C:\SAV32CLI folder.

<br><br>
Copy and paste the below two lines into Notepad and save the file to the USB Stick as sophos.bat, it will scan and remove.

Have a look in the settings of Firefox and IE..

In Firefox go to "file" make sure that "work off line" is not marked. Then go to "tools > options > main", and put in a home webpage that you want to start up with I:E: httpwww.winamp.com, also make sure it does not say "show blank page".
In IE, make sure that "work off line" is not ticked. Then go into "tools > internet options > general" and select the button marked "use default". If that does not work, put in a web page (www.winamp.com), and have that as your start up page (you can change this later). When all done and dusted they should work.

Please post back if you have any more problems or questions.
