Locked

shutdown when logoff

By Pianissimo ·
How can I remove some user the possibility to work locally in XP?
I want to login to terminal services at boot and shutdown local windows XP automatically at terminal session logoff.
Ideally, I don't them to be able to access their local windows by minimizing their terminal windows either...

Sounds like you need thin clients and not PCs on the users' desks.

You will need to build a custom profile that only allows the users to run the terminal server session and then start the terminal service sesion from a script and use the following script to reboot the system on terminal server shutdown:

Set OpSysSet = GetObject("winmgmts:{(Shutdown)}//./root/cimv2").ExecQuery("select * from Win32_OperatingSystem where Primary=true")

for each OpSys in OpSysSet
OpSys.Reboot()

Use this line if you want the system to shutdown:

OpSys.Shutdown()
