Questions:
Why is there a 30-90 sec. delay when we plot from AutoCAD to a Windows Printer using a LPR port?
Are there any issues with slow printing or plotting with a Windows printer using a LPR port?
Does this have anything to do with DNS resolution of the printer’s host name?
Details:
This delay happens when you pick a Windows LPR printer in the plot Dialog box in AutoCAD. It happens in both WinNT SP6a and Win2k SP2. The version of AutoCAD we are running is Land development Desktop 3. This happens on every
computer independent of hardware. With win2k we have the fortunate oppotunity to use a Standard TCP/IP port. But 95% or our PCs are WinNT.
