SmartMedia Cards

By selkett ·
Does anyone make a SmartMedia card with more than 128 mb of memory? I can't seem to find anything larger than 128 mb.

They sure do...

Goto www.newegg.com and do a search for smartmedia .... Find a bunch... 64's, 128's, 256's, 512's! Fairly inexpensive also.

SmartMedia has an upper limit of 128 MB. If your device can handle other types of cards, such as SD [which I've seen up to 1 GB] check that the device can handle that size. Most will limit themselves to an additional 128 MB anyway.

I looked at NewEgg, and did not find any Smart Media cards over 128MB.

Looking at one of the manufactures sites, www.sandisk.com
they state a maximum capacity of 128MB for Smart Media.

The capacity issue for Smart Media is do to the limited number of data lines on the interface.
The original version of Smart Media was limited to 16MB.

So, dptrak is correct.
