Software anyone?

By mch_320 ·
Does anyone out there know of a "name" of a software which can extract or "read" a deleted file from the recycle bin? I heard there's one by Norton but I have been looking and have not had the luck.

The product you speak of is part of the Norton Utilities
Go to www.symantec.com/nav/
In the search box you type in "file recovery" and it will show screen that gives articles on how to use the recycle bin to unerase utility to recover files.
Hopethis helps

The software you looking for is Norton Protection. It is a part of the Norton Utilities. Once you install it, it will load when Windows start, and it compress all file that you deleted. You can set how long to keep those file before permanently delete them. After you install the software, it also change the name of your recycle bin to "Norton protected recycle bin", and it change the icon of the recycle bin too. When you double click on the recycle bin, the
Unerase Wizard will start. It help you to recover files that still being protect by Norton Protection (you can recover any files) and even files that have already been permanently deleted (you may or may not be able to recover those files since the computer may write some new files onthe disk's place of the old ones).
You may want to visit Norton's web site at www.symantec.com.
Right now, you can download the shareware version of Norton Utilities 2001 as well as Norton Antivirus 2001 at www.download.com.(it may take a few hours to download since the zip file is quite big).

Good luck,
