Sony Camcordere Mem Stick not responding

by r_verge . Updated 23 years, 1 month ago

Dear Tech person:

I am have trouble with two know programs so far (Sony TRV17 DV camcorder Memory stick and Mavis Beacon Typing 9).

I am running Windows XP with three hard drive plenty of storage, 512k memory. Both programs have worked fine in the past with the above setup.

Could you tell me why my computer goes into a “not responding” state?
Example: I am using a Sony TRV17 DV camcorder. I try to have the memory stick load up, and I get a message that my computer is not responding. The instant that I shut the camera switch to off the My Computer program disappears from the task manager box. As long as the camera is not turned on for the memory stick, the “My Computer Program” will work fine. I can use the fire wire connection for the video; it works fine.

I also have the same “not Responding” problem when I tried to access Mavis Beacon Typing 9. I get a black start up screen for that program. I have UNINSTALLED the Mavis Beacon Typing 9 program, and still havethe same problem with the memory stick. I have not found any other programs to cause the not responding error yet.

Is there a dll file or a driver missing or corrupted? Could be something totally different causing the problem?

If you have possible leads please respond.

Thank you,

Ron Verge
