sound card installation

By philpal ·
I tried to add a soundblaster PnP sound card to an old Win95 pentium. All that displays now is 'tvx0222b'.
The motherboard is MB-8500tvx-a v2.3.
Can you help?

TVX0222b was a bios upgrade for the motherboard. Not sure what you are asking but if it has an onboard sound device you will need to disable it to install the sound card.

Found some FAQ's for the motherboard.

Win 95 is your problem. Can you move to 98? If not make sure you install DOS support, it should have been done by default. check your auto exec.bat for a line like "SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H7 P330 T6", also check for BIOS updates. Check Creative site for all latest drivers. Also go into Device Manager and make sure your soundcard is setup for IRQ 5.
