Suggest you try for updated drivers for the mouse
as a first action. Also check with motherboard book if those operating temps are within tolerance, they seem a bit high but I am used to working with centigrade and not sure of my conversion factors.

will recheck the temp again with soyo, "just" to make sure. I did add another exhaust fan to be on the safe side. but the mouse is still hanging during normal operations.

If the mouse is a USB, get an adapter to PS2. Some Win98Se and earlier USB support stinks. I have a dell form 1998 that I use a logitech mouseman (USB) did the sme thing until I plugged it in the PS2 slot. No problem since.

I saw this one time when the USB port and the printer port were using the same IRQ. every time you printed something, the mouse would freeze up for a few seconds. Changed the IRQ for the printer port in the BIOS and it took care of the problem.

Try changing out the mouse, could be faulty. Remove all peripherals, espescially USB type, and see if problem persists. If it's ok, then replace each peripheral one at a time until you find the problem child. DNC
