SQL 7.0 Admin Certification

By MarcusArealius ·
Anyone have a suggestion?
I have failed the CERT test for SQL 7.0 ADMIN 70-028 three times.

I have studied material from several sources. Such as, but not limited to: STS and MeasureUp. Both offer prep exams were I average 80%-90% prior to each CERT Test. However, When I take the real test my score seams to remain at 444. A passing score is 680.

Obviously I am studying the wrong material.

Had I obtained a copy of Troy Technologies, (which I stumbled on after my first test), I would have passed for it had the identical first test questions. However, I have never prescribed to these cheat sheets. I wish, now, that I had; for I am real tired of wasting my time with a test that seams to have no end.

Any suggestions to ending this 8-month battle would be appreciated.

Frustratedly Submitted,
Mark A. Hilbert

Que Publisshing + Data Modeling

by donq In reply to SQL 7.0 Admin Certificati ...

I have a good book "Using Microsoft's SQL Server 6.5" by Que to bone up on SQL Server some time ago. I develop SQL front ends using Access and VBA (where my certification lies) and the secret for me seemed to come when my feeble little brain finally grasped data modeling. All ODBC database mechanics are similar and NONE theac data modeling which lies at the heart of data storage and management. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE UP! Databases are extremely powerful tools and there are so few gurus that really understand them. I hope you are going the MCSD route rather than the MCSE route as well. We need folks that can properly construct a Data Warehouse for the MCSE types to wrap their equipment around. Good Luck! - Don Quigg
