SQL DTS Connection - MS Excel 97-2000

By kaypaul ·
I am currently DTS with ActiveX to call Excel application to update worksheets by a macro with Excel installed at the server.

I am looking for a solution of not to installed Excel at the server and looking for an alternative solution.

I was looking at using DTS Connection - MS Excel 97-2000. But where can I get FAQ or info to go further.

The DTS connection is in fact an ODBC connection. This connection really only allows for the excecution of specifically formatted SQL statements, generally for dropping, creating and modifying table structures.

In order to use a macro your DTS package (and the server its on) must have access to the Excel object model. The only I am aware of to do that is to install Excel.
