sql server 7 install on Win XP

By sagatism ·
In the past I've installed SQL Server 7 Standard Edition on Win XP Pro and on an old WIN NT Workstation without problems. But trying to install it on Win XP home edition I get the message that only client components can be installed on a Win NT workstation. Does any one know a work round to this without an XP Pro install.

I am not an SQL specialist, but XP Home is not much better than W98. You might try upgrading to W2k if you cannot do XP Pro.

SQL SERVER 7.0 standard Edition is not support by Win Xp Pro . You can only install client connectivity .

Please refer sql server 7.0 installation requirement guide.
